Storage Overview

Support options for storage

Be aware that we only support the S3 storage when used as part of the EasyInspect product suite like Inspection Cloud and Datasets. Setup and usage in 3rd party applications or API is only supported if you have a enterprise agreement covering the use cases.

S3 Storage provides a RESTful API for managing the data you store through the use of HTTP requests. The API is interoperable with Amazon's AWS S3 API allowing you to interact with the service while using the tools you already know.

Build with Ceph Software stack

Ceph is a unified, distributed storage system designed for excellent performance, reliability and scalability. Read more about the Ceph software solution at https://ceph.com/

Fast and secure network

We have build our storage cluster on high performance dedicated hardware. Servers are located in multiple datacenters with dedicated and private 10Gbps connections. Each gateway server have a 10Gbps connection for inbound traffic and 3Gbps outbound providing maximum transfer speed on both up and download.

Software clients

S3 storage is build to be distributed and work like a RAID across multiple servers. This mean that we can loose a disk, two disks or even a whole server without loosing any data. If you want to have your data backed up so it an be restores as it looked at a specific point in time, you will need a external solution.

One way is to sync your data with a Synology NAS and create storage snapshots. Please read this article on how to setup synchronisation of your data. Backup to Synology
